Dal Machining Exhibition in Indore on February 2nd.

About 150 companies, including multinational countries like Spain, Turkey, Japan and China, will showcase their grain processing and packaging technology at a trade fair organized by All India Dal Mills Association in Indore from 2-4 of February,

Sortex, the three-day event will showcase sorting, packing and processing machinery, storage equipment and silos, among others, said Suresh Agrawal, president of All India Dal Mills Association. Around 2,000 millers, flour millers, traders and industry stakeholders are expected to participate in the fair.

Agarwal said the dali milling industry is mostly concentrated in central India, mostly around Indore and Katni in Madhya Pradesh, parts of Maharashtra like Akola and Nagpur and Kolhapur, Dahod in Gujarat and around Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh. “With the arrival of new processing units, current facilities are also upgrading their machinery and other equipment to make their operations more efficient. The fair showcases the industry’s latest range of milling equipment and technologies,” said Agarwal. India is the largest producer and consumer of pulses. The country is also the largest importer of pulses such as lentils and pigeon peas.
