Kerala plans to introduce a single window in the plantation sector to reduce bureaucratic hurdles.

Kerala plans to implement a single window system to boost utilization of the state’s five percent plantation sector for other purposes, Industries Minister P Rajeev said.The aim is to overcome practical difficulties in obtaining official approval for non-plantation projects in the sector, after inaugurating the second edition of the Kerala Plantation Expo.The government will convene a meeting of all allied departments and the single window system will be implemented from the next financial year (2024-25), adding that the government has also included plantations in the World Bank project. to improve the productivity of farms.

Director of Industries and Commerce S Harikishore, who is the Special Director of Plantations, said that the department has entrusted IIM-Kozhikode to study the problems of the state’s plantation sector and develop solutions. “Based on this report, we intend to adopt a comprehensive policy for the sector.The purpose of the fair is to catalyze government initiatives for the growth of the plantation industry by showcasing its brand potential to tap global and domestic demand for a range of products and services.
