The Ministry of Fisheries announced on Monday that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) platform to help traditional fishermen, fishery producers and fishery entrepreneurs buy and sell their products through the platform. electronic market. The memorandum was signed in the presence of Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Parshottam Rupala, External Affairs Minister L Murugan, Fisheries Secretary Abhilaksh Likhi, ONDC CEO T Koshy among others, an official statement said.

“This is a historic MoU,” said Rupala, adding that the collaboration will open up digital business opportunities for India’s fisheries sector.
