Yara India, UP Govt inks MoU to improve potato yield and quality.

Yara India, a subsidiary of global crop nutrition company Yara International, has signed an MoU with the Department of Horticulture and Food Processing, Government of Uttar Pradesh, to help potato growers improve yields and quality. The MoU was signed by Vinaya Kumar Sharma, Business Head, Yara India, at the Second International Conference and Buyer-Seller Meeting in Agra on February 4. The main goal is to introduce new digital technologies to farmers and develop their skills in a higher direction. efficiency and sustainability in agricultural practices, Yara said in a statement.

Atul Kumar Singh, Director of Horticulture and Food Industries, Uttar Pradesh, visited the Yara Knowledge Cultivation Center in Agra, a center of expertise in agricultural practices. Government and company officials interacted with potato farmers and visited four demonstration potato farms established by Yara. Sanjiv Kanwar, Managing Director, Yara South Asia, said: “Our collaboration is focused on building an ecosystem that supports and improves the livelihoods of our farmers, while revolutionizing food systems for a healthier and more sustainable future. We are committed to working . closely with other actors in the value chain from seed companies to final production factories, as well as Yara agronomists with our team to introduce digital innovations like our newly updated FarmCare app and improve food.

Singh said, “This partnership will introduce farmers to cutting-edge digital technologies and innovative solutions that will significantly improve the productivity and quality of crops, thus contributing to the overall well-being of farmers and their families. The Yara Knowledge Grow Center in Agra is an excellent platform for developing and improving agricultural best practices and we are confident that farmers will benefit greatly from the knowledge and expertise shared by Yara’s team of agronomists. The center is a platform to meet the local community through training programs for farmers. At the center’s research farm, Yara researchers develop sustainable farming models and innovative solutions, and study the profitability of new plants and farming techniques in the region.
